South shore sunday-our usual. We go to Kaua'i Christian Fellowship church and then explore Poipu beaches... Found some beautiful beaches and places to camp. Some of the beaches here look more like something you'd find in northern Cali or Oregon, lots of pine trees. Kaua'i is full of surprises. Went to shipwreck beach, where "Six days, seven nights" was filmed. I wasted my whole camera battery trying to get pictures of people jumping off this huge cliff-they kept changing their minds, but finally a few did it (see pic).

Also checked out the Grand Hyatt-WOW- what an amazing place (see pics). We asked how much the day use fee was to use the pools(there are too many to count-so gorgeous) and they charge half of the highest room rate for that season, so it would cost us $220 each!!

Now it's Labor Day and we're deciding which of the many beautiful beaches to go to and BBQ.

You're all in our prayers! We miss you lots!

Vic and I have been enjoying ourselves immensely! He's been getting off a little early at work some days, so we just put our suits on and find ourselves another part of the island to explore.

I finally got our camera battery charged and took pics of our place :)

Saturday there is a "surfboard swap"(it happens once a month) we are going to and Sunday a BBQ with our new neighbors. You know w/ Vic , we now know about 20 people or more-he's even got a fruit and veggie hook-up from his work route.
Vic says I make a very good housewife-ha,ha,ha!

Paradise found!

Aloha everyone!

Even though we've been here 3 weeks today, we are finally settled in-just about ha,ha,ha.

We stayed in a vacation rental the first 4 nights then went to the Navy base ( Barking Sands) for 2 nights, then on to our place "the Jungle Hut", which we rented off Craigslist while we were in Cali. Needless to say, we moved after 5 days... Now we are comfy, cozy in our mountain-side beach cottage!

Every available moment has been exploring this beautiful island. Even though you can drive around the whole island in a few hours ( you can't drive around the island- the road comes to a stop and you have to turn around) there is soooo much to do and see.

We love it all! The people are so friendly and helpful and the food is delish! You know I (jill)love to eat!

Now that Vic just got a surf board, he's been trying to hit all the best surf spots-and there are alot.

As soon as I buy a camery battery charger( I lost it in our travels) we'll get more pics to you all.
